▪️ Later in the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer you to the Mekong Princess docked at Saigon Port. Please provide your hotel name and address, and be ready for our shuttle service between 10:00 A.M and 11:00 A.M.
▪️ Upon boarding, a safety briefing will be held in the Ramvong Lounge. You'll be warmly greeted by our Vietnamese and Cambodian crew, marking the beginning of your extraordinary journey.
▪️ Lunch, served with attentive oriental hospitality, will follow shortly after departure, allowing you to unwind in your luxurious suite and take in the passing scenery.
▪️ We set sail at midday, navigating through various waterways until we reach the Mighty Mekong River.
▪️ As evening approaches, we anchor in the heart of the Mekong Delta, offering a chance to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails while witnessing stunning sunsets and local sampans passing by. Indulge in a traditional Vietnamese "A La Carte" dinner at the Indochine Restaurant, featuring a delightful fusion of dishes catering to discerning palates.

▪️ This morning, sampans will transport you through a channel bordered by mangroves. Experience a ride on a "xe lam" (three-wheeler), a popular local mode of transportation, to visit a coconut candy maker. Witness the candy-making process, and stroll through the village to see a fruit orchard displaying Vietnam's native fruits at various stages of growth. After a fruit tasting, board small local boats to cruise through narrow creeks lined with Nipah palm trees before returning to the ship.
▪️ In the afternoon, the ship navigates through an untouched area of the Mekong Delta to Au Island, opposite Ninh Kieu Wharf in Can Tho city, known as Tay Do - the capital of the Mekong Delta. After arrival, explore Can Tho City with a vicinity tour led by a local guide, visiting Zihuang Pagoda (Chua Ong) and enjoying traditional unicorn dances performed by local teenagers. You'll have free time to explore the charming city and its night market before returning to the ship for dinner.

▪️ Early in the morning, a continental breakfast will be served before the sampan arrives at the Mekong Princess for a cruise to the captivating Cai Rang floating market. The sampan will navigate through the bustling market where local residents gather each morning to buy and sell produce and other goods. Amidst this lively scene, guests can capture stunning photographs and enjoy fresh fruit, Vietnamese "anti-aging drink," and coconut water. A visit to a local dry noodle-making house will also be included before returning to the ship for breakfast.
▪️ After lunch, the excursion continues by sampan to Hoa An village, renowned for its flower cultivation and handmade crafts. The first stop is at the flower gardens to observe various flowers and learn about their cultivation. Guests will then visit a local house to interact with the residents and gain insights into their daily lives.
▪️ Following a brief pause, the excursion proceeds on a motor trishaw to another village, where guests will visit families involved in conical hat-making. Here, they can engage with the locals, learn about the hat-making process, and explore the tranquil village surroundings, including rice fields and fruit orchards.

▪️ After breakfast, we board sampans to Gieng Island. A brief stroll through the local sampan village precedes a canal drive to explore mango gardens. We'll then experience a ride on a "xe loi" (motor trishaw) to visit a Phanxico Monastery.
▪️ In the afternoon, we explore the local island village of Hong Ngu, renowned for producing traditional Khmer scarves. Witnessing the weaving process in various homes and encountering friendly villagers offers a unique cultural experience. Additionally, we visit a local temple dedicated to the Hoa Hao religion, unique to this region of Vietnam.

▪️ This morning, the Mekong Princess sails to the border for exit procedures before continuing up the Mekong River towards Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital. Enjoy the picturesque scenery along the riverbanks. Upon completing immigration formalities, local cyclo drivers await to guide you on a city tour. Your journey begins with a ride along the riverfront to the Royal Palace, where you'll explore the beautifully landscaped gardens and visit the Throne Hall and Moonlight Pavilion. Next, you'll visit the Silver Pagoda, renowned for housing Cambodia’s Emerald Buddha and Maitreya Buddha, adorned with over 9,000 diamonds. After a brief pause, your cyclos will take you to the National Museum, showcasing extensive pre-Angkorian and Angkorian artifacts, and providing insight into Cambodia’s rich history.

▪️ This morning, a private motor coach will transport you on a picturesque 45-minute journey from the ship to Choeung Ek, known as the killing fields, where the darkest chapter of Cambodian history unfolded. You'll have the opportunity to walk through the fields, visit the small museum and Memorial Stupa, and gain insight into the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge regime. On the return trip to Phnom Penh, a stop will be made at Tuol Sleng (also known as S-21), a former school turned into a prison and torture center by the Khmer Rouge.
▪️ The afternoon is free for you to explore the charming city of Phnom Penh at your leisure.
▪️ Before dinner this evening, enjoy onboard entertainment featuring cultural performances, including the Apsara dance, Cambodia’s national dance, and other traditional folk dances.

▪️ The Mekong Princess departs from Phnom Penh and heads to Angkor Ban. In the afternoon, our tour begins with a visit to the charming and authentic town of Angkor Ban. Here, we observe the daily life of the local people, starting with a visit to the pagoda for a special blessing ceremony conducted by local monks.
▪️ Then, we proceed to visit a local family's home to meet them and learn about their lifestyle. Our journey continues through the village to the local school, where we join the children in their classrooms to experience a typical school day.

John Smith08/03/2023 The luxurious RV Mekong Princess provided a fantastic experience with genuine hospitality. The personnel is fantastic, and you can tell they enjoy their work. This cruise line firmly stands apart from the crowd. The excursions, except the floating market in Can Tho, are all off the beaten path. They visit actual tiny communities and families. This is only feasible since the maximum number of participants is 28. They have a high regard for the natives. As a result, the locals accept you as a friend and allow you to connect with them. This is an excellent method of ecotourism! We recommend this excursion to anybody interested in exploring this region on a comfortable ship. They also offer fantastic local advisors who will stay with you aboard the cruise and answer all of your questions about their nations. Thank you to the Mekong Princess crew and Eric (the Hospitality Director) for an unforgettable experience. |

Sofia Bianchi18/05/2024 I took a river cruise up the Mekong River on the Mekong Princess, organized by Viet Prestige Travel. The boat itself was fabulous—not too large, with a guest capacity of 28. The crew provided exceptional service, and the short land trips were extremely interesting, well escorted, and ensured safety with a first aid person in attendance just in case. Despite the heat in May, which may not have been the ideal time to go but suited my schedule, every aspect of the journey exceeded expectations. The decor, food, cleanliness, and overall experience onboard were absolutely top-notch. Thoroughly recommended, thanks to Viet Prestige Travel for arranging such an unforgettable adventure! |
